Chester County Camera Club

February 10, 2021 / Meeting Notes

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:01 PM by Ginia Apostolacus, Club President.  She greeted club members and asked guests and new members to introduce themselves and to share how they came to know about the club.  The Club welcomes Emily Nelson and Vicki Jauron.

Next, the President invited Committee Chairs to provide updates:

Members Forum – Anita reported that Peter Guman will present “Using Photography to Tell a Story” in March.

Competitions – Dean reminded members that the date of the next Competition will be held February 24.th   The Assigned Category is Surrealism.  Entries will be accepted until Midnight February 21st.  Dean also reported that an adjustment based on rules was made to last month’s Assigned Monochrome category.  The winner should have received a Second-Place rating.

Mentor/Mentee – Buzz reported that Jim Wilson will present on off-camera flash at the next scheduled meeting.

Outings Committee – Sven reported the possibility of a change in dates due to the weather.  He promised to send out an email to update those interested in attending.

Carolyn Mead, Programs Chair, welcomed back the evening’s guest speaker, John Barclay whose presentation was titled “Master Your Craft and Honor your Vision.”  John’s very powerful message urged photographers to honor their own vision and stay true to their own feelings. 

The presentation was recorded and will be available to members along with a link to John’s lecture notes and e-book titled “Photos that Make your Heart Sing.”

A lively discussion ensued after John’s presentation.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:52 PM.
