Ryerss Farm For Aged Equines Outing

The event will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026 from 1:45 PM to 3:30 PM.

You may be thinking that we will not have any more club outings in March, but neigh! On Sunday, March 29th, we will be visiting Ryerss Farm in Pottstown. Ryerss Farm is the oldest non-profit dedicated to the care of aged horses and retired horses in the country. Some have been abused, some injured, some retired, and others are just old. It’s a great place to photograph the horses up close. We plan to get there around 1:45PM while the horses are still out to pasture, and we can photograph them as they graze. At 2:30PM they will start to bring the horses back into the barn, and we can photograph them inside.

There is no charge for the visit. They never asked for donations, but feel free to give them something. I’m sure they would appreciate it. You can buy little food bags to feed the horses when they are in the barn. Only feed them what they supply in these little bags. Even if you won’t be joining us, I would encourage you to look at their website to see what they do at the farm to care for these animals.

We will have two carpools for this outing. One from Exton, and the other from West Grove. The Exton carpool will leave at 1:00PM from the Giant parking lot across Swedesford Road from the Exton Square Mall. Look for the car with the tripod on the roof in the aisle closest to Panera. The West Grove carpool will be leaving from the lot in front of Two Stones Pub at 49 Jenners Village in West Grove at 12:45PM. If you want to drive on your own, the address is 1710 Ridge Road, Pottstown. Be there around 1:45PM.

Let Jim Wilson know if you plan to join us. If you want to join a carpool, let him know which one. We hope to see you there.
