The event will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 7:15 PM to 8:15 PM.
Weather is such a critical factor in our outdoors photography, yet it’s a factor
that we have no control over and cannot predict, especially when we plan a
trip well in advance. I often hear photographers complain that a trip was a
total waste because of bad weather and bad light. It’s true that in bad weather
the conditions are usually not very comfortable and require that we prepare for
them and take some precautions; they are less predictable and change
constantly; and there is no “good” light. However, bad weather shouldn’t
mean bad conditions for photography. It may offer special opportunities for
unique photographs with different subjects. For example, bad weather
conditions often make pictures moody, expressive, and different from standard
calendar shots.
In this presentation, we’ll see how to take advantage of bad weather
conditions and how to handle the challenges that they present. Arik will share
photographs and discuss the opportunities, considerations, and precautions
when photographing outdoors in bad weather.
