The event was held on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
On Thursday, May 14th, Svenne Juul and Art Glenn will be leading in our quest to be ready for our night shoot on Saturday the 16th.
The prep-meeting is intended for club members who are planning to attend the night-sky outing. No zoom on this one.
Participants should bring as many of these items as they posses, as they will be used (or at least will be 'useful') during the outing:
- Tripod
- L-bracket (if they have one)
- Head-lamp (ideally with a red-light option)
- "Fast" wide-angle lense. 20mm f2.8 is great.
- Camera - and access to camera manual.
We will discuss the importance of knowing how to operate the camera in the dark, recommended camera settings, how to focus the camera in the dark, post processing, and what to expect for the outing (timing, expected temperature, terrain, duration, star-trails vs milkyway, where we meet, etc.).
There are a lot of other activities at the Westminster Presbyterian Church that evening, so we will be meeting in 'Spellman Jr' hall. Rather than walking through the normal main entrance you will take a right to the right of the entrance to get right into 'Spellman Jr' hall
